Memorial day 2008

Went out with my daughter Alex for a couple hours in the afternoon.....Looks like the gas prices kept everybody home this Memorial day ....I was kind of used to having the lake to myself ....Looked more like fourth of july .....See you on the lake

Fishing sunday evening

Went out Sunday evenig at 5:30 and stayed out until 9:45 Caught 17 bass and a walleye one bass was really a good one ......Started out a little slow but picked as the evening progressed......All were caught on worms and were really pretty deep.....See you on the lake

Take a kid fishing ......

Took my brother and 4 kids out on the pontoon boat saturday Austin,Alex,Andrew and Alice Jane.....The four A`s all had a great time ....Some were a little more serious about the fishing than others but that`s ok.....We did manage to take Austin and Andrew on they`re first fishing trip in a boat and both caught they`re biggest fish .....I`m sure they`re looking forward to the next time ....which is the point of it all......

Fishing weekend may 16 to 18

Went out Friday with my youngest we just played with the underwater fish camera .....I checked the new artifical structure in the first cove on the south side of o-cove the only fish I saw was one walleye ....went to the w2 brush pile marked crappie red ear and green sunfish all over it.....The castle brush pile was green sunfish and a few crappie ......Went to neal browns brush pile and saw a few bass and crappie... The new artifical out in front of the witt`s was empty of any fish activity....Went out ealy saturday morning ...the bass started out pretty good ...caught them on a jig and worm from 5:30 til 7:30 Jim Appel joined me at 7:30 the sun getting on the extremely clear water seemed to really push the fish deep...It took us a little while to figure this out ....Once we did we started to pick alot more fish ...Jim throwing a texas tube and I used a worm what a surprise....That will be a trend that you will see throughout the summer in Weatherby Worm Fishing season.....Atleast by me ...We went in at 10:00 am and made tentative plans to go out night fishing later in the day ......We got back out at 8:30 the fishing were really hittig in the first couple of hours ....Took alot of fish on the pb&j jig ...I believe jim was using a black spinner bait he connected on some fish with it .....We had a sgnificant lull but the fish started biting again around midnight we went in about 12:30 am.....Overall the night fishing was pretty good ....Normally I would wait for mid june to start night fishing but the clear water made us try it earlier.....We went out for short time on sunday evening Jim carolina rigged and I threw a worm did well until I ran out of gas in my boat......Big tank and a 9.9 you never know when you will run out .....See you on the lake...

Crappie Fishing on Sunday May 11

The wife and kids had a mother`s day outing so I decided to try some crappie fishing.....I also purchased an underwater fishing camera that you can lower into the water a check out thr structure ....The crappie didn`t cooperate but I did catch some walleye and bluegill and small bass...I ended up playing with the camera most of thr time .....I got good position on all the new artifical structures I never saw any fish on them yet ...The one on c-point I think is a little too deep.....The new brush piles all had fish on them ...Mostly bass the crappie must be staging for they`re spawning run.....The map is good for a general idea but the structures don`t show up on depth finder yet ...Once the moss and algae cover them they should show up on your depth finder....Didn`t catch on single crappie...

Fishing on saturday may 10

Went fishing Saturday with Mike Boultinghouse......I got out about 6:30 mMikr joined a little while later.....We didn`t do to great the powerful fronts we have been getting lately have been effecting the bass spawn ....They don`t seem to no what to do ...The water temperature is also lower than it should be this time of the year....We did alright not great....Caught fish on plastic worms,senkos.jig and pig ....Mike had his most luck on a lizzard and a shallow running crankbait .....We also saw Marty out with his boat loaded down we didn`t talk to them so I don`t know how they did ......
